Your distribution process describes when which leads are offered to which lead acceptors in your marketplace. You have various options for gradually restricting the distribution in terms of time and strategy according to perimeter, sales area (zip code), all partners, partner attributes or a combination of the distribution criteria. You can also use a partner filter, for example, so that the lead is only offered to a certain number of nearest partners. Setting the distribution correctly ensures that sales partners in the role of lead acceptors are only offered leads to which they match 100%.
1. Open the settings of the marketplace whose distribution settings you want to edit.
2. Open the category Distribution settings:
3. To be able to set or edit the distribution settings, you must first open the editor by clicking on the pencil icon to the right of Distribution Settings.
4. Now the editor is open and you can start setting the steps. If there are already steps that you want to edit, you can do so by clicking on the pencil icon next to the respective step. If there are no steps yet, you can add new steps by clicking on New step:
5. Once you have created a step, you must first define the distribution strategy. The choices are:
- Perimeter
- Sales area
- Attributes
- All sales partners
- Combination
- Partner filter
Description of the differnt categories:
Perimeter: Determines the maximum distance of the lead from the potential sales partner.
Sales area (zip code): You can assign sales partners to postcode areas. If you select this distribution strategy, the corresponding leads will only be distributed to the sales partners to whom the corresponding postcode area has been assigned.
All sales partners: Leads are distributed to all participants in the marketplace who are allowed to accept leads.
Attributes: These are attributes that you define for your partners and according to which leads can be distributed. These can be attributes such as gold, silver or bronze partners. You can find out how to assign attributes to your sales partners in this article.
Combination: You can use a combination of distribution strategies. For example, you can combine partner attributes with perimeter, so you could, for instance, specify that all leads are first sent to your gold partners within a perimeter of 100 km before they are then escalated to silver partners within a perimeter of 50 km. You can find a detailed description on the combination options here.
Partner filter: Under Partner filter you can currently select the category Nearest partners. This allows you to define that a lead should only be offered to a certain number of nearest partners. This can be particularly useful if you have a high partner density. Incidentally, you can also combine this distribution strategy with other distribution criteria.
Important: Be sure to save each step individually after you have edited it by clicking on the green tick:
6. Save your distribution settings
When you have set up and saved all the steps as desired, finally click on the green tick at the top right of the editor:
This saves your process. In the future, lead offers in this example will first be sent to all gold partners within a perimeter of 100 km. If none of the gold partners accepts the lead within one day, the lead escalates and is then offered to all silver partners within a radius of 50 km.
