In order to improve collaboration between coworkers in your own company and at the request of our customers, today we are introducing a new functionality that allows you to assign leads to coworkers in your company.
How it works and what it is good for
A lead can be assigned to an individual coworker in your company. However, it does not have to be assigned to a coworker. All active coworkers in your own company can be assigned. Assignment across company boundaries is not possible.
The assignments help you coordinate with your coworkers and divide the leads among you. By assigning it, you make it clear to all coworkers a) whether a coworker is already taking care of a specific lead and b) which coworker is currently responsible.
The assignments primarily serve to organize work and otherwise have no effect on lead visibility. In a second step, we will fine-tune lead-related notifications - e.g. when creating tasks or new notes in the journal - based on the assigned coworkers. More on that later.
On the lead details page
At the very beginning of the lead details page - this is the page that opens when you open a lead - you will now see another tile labeled "Coworker".
To assign a coworker, click in the field or on the pencil symbol and then in the selection field. A list of possible coworkers will be displayed,
To remove an assigned coworker, click on the red trash can icon. Use the gray X symbol to cancel editing.
If a coworker has been assigned, you will see his name in this tile.
In the lead lists
You can also have the assigned coworker displayed on all lead lists.
To display the coworker, click on the marked symbol at the top right
and then display the new “Coworker” column.
Automatic assignments
To support daily work with this new functionality, we are introducing two additional automations.
-
Manual lead creation
If you create a lead manually via thein the navigation bar, then the newly created lead will be automatically assigned to you. You can tell this because your name is under the “Coworker” tile on the lead detail page. You can of course remove the assignment immediately or assign the lead to another coworker.
-
Accepting a lead offer
When you accept a lead offer for your company, the accepted lead will also be automatically assigned to you. Of course, you can also remove this assignment immediately or assign the lead to another coworker.
Can sales partners and clients see and assign coworkers to each other?
For reasons of operational data protection and in compliance with the Privacy First premise, in the case of passed-on leads, neither the clients can see which coworkers at the partner a lead has been assigned, nor can the sales partners see which coworkers at the client a lead has been assigned to. Coworker assignments are private within each company.
Outlook
With today's release we are giving you a new tool for your daily lead work. We also plan to introduce additional notifications in a future release.
The coworker who has been assigned a lead should be notified of the assignment. We also want to inform the responsible coworkers about activities within their leads that someone else is doing. For example, when a coworker adds a note. Or when the sales partner to whom the lead was passed creates a task.
We will inform you separately about the new notifications and the impact on you and your coworkers in a further announcement. We expect this to happen in probably two weeks.
